Chantilly Tea: Happy Iced Tea Day!
HAPPY ICED TEA DAY!
Today is Iced Tea Day, so I wanted to share the story behind the birth of this loved national beverage. In 1904 at the World's Fair in St. Louis, Missouri an English promoter, hired by a company of Indian tea growers, had set up a fabulous booth and was serving steaming cups of tea. However, the weather was unbearably hot and customers were miserable and did not want anything hot, thus, he was having a bad day. So, he decided to pour the black teas over ice and a beverage sensation was created.
We Tucsonans understand HOT weather...especially since our temperatures are now in the 100s. And iced is definitely the way to enjoy tea in the summer. We have several delicious iced teas available this year...
Cranberry Hibiscus An herbal tea with whole cranberries, hibiscus petals, black currants and elderberries.
Raspberry This herbal tea is a blend of rosehip, hibiscus, raspberry leaves, orange and apple.
Peach A Chinese black tea with the refreshing flavor of ripe peaches.
Passion Fruit This flavored black tea is blended with sweet passion fruit.
