Afternoon Tea in Montreal
While visiting Montreal, I enjoyed afternoon tea at a wonderful spot--Le Parloir. I was truly charmed by the atmosphere...wooden floors, vintage tables and chairs, china cups and teapots and a wonderful wooden bar area. After I chose my tea flavor of the day using their smelling jars, I sat back and enjoyed the view of the tin wall and all the different chandeliers around the room. Sylvie, the owner, climbs a flight of stairs from the basement kitchen to deliver the tiers filled with treats. On Sundays, she serves a traditional afternoon tea as well as a unique Brunch Tea with more breakfast-like items. With all the guests speaking French, Cream Earl Grey tea steeping in my pot, and the morning just beginning to slip into midday, Le Parloir truly captures the relaxing joy of afternoon tea.
